August 24th，2018，teaching site agreement signing ceremony between Confucius Institute of Assumption University (hereafter CIAU) and Benchamaracharungsarit School (hereafter BRR) was held. Mr. Werachai Tananonchai, director of BRR, Mr. Adinan Detpong, vice director of BRR, Ms. Siriluk Chaiprompasit, Thai director of CIAU and Mr. Zhao Peiqin, Chinese director of CIAU signed the agreement. All the top management, departments heads and teacher representatives of BRR attended the ceremony. BRR became the eighth teaching site of CIAU.
In his speech, Mr. Werachai pointed out that Thai people are now in greater demand for Chinese language learning, and they hope to have the chance to learn advanced Chinese science and technology. He hoped that BRR and CIAU would work together to cultivate more qualified professionals through the teaching site program. Mr Zhao Peiqin hoped that both CIAU and BRR could seize the opportunity brought by China's One Belt And One Road Initiative, Thailand 4.0 Strategy and Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) Strategy to cultivate more high-quality professionals.
Ms. Siriluk Chaiprompasit and Mr. Zhao Peiqin gave work reports of CIAU to General Surachet Chaiwong, Deputy Minister of Education of Thailand. General Surachet Chaiwong said that Confucius institutes made great contribution to the educational and cultural exchanges between China and Thailand. To express his thanks, he held Mr. Zhao Peiqin’s hands and said in natural Chinese "We love you! Thank you!". General Surachet Chaiwong showed great interests in playing Gu Zheng and writing Chinese characters with a brush pen when he was invited for CIAU’s Chinese culture experience program.
Founded in 1892, BRR, now with 3,485 registered students, is a key middle school in Chachoengsao Province of Thailand. Through the establishment of Chinese teaching site, CIAU and BRR will carry out effective cooperation in Chinese teaching, Chinese culture activities, Chinese proficiency test and etc.
