Teaching Site ACS

    On September 13th, 2018, teaching site agreement signing ceremony between Confucius Institute of Assumption University (hereafter CIAU) and Assumption College Sriracha (hereafter ACS) was held. Dr. Chamnan Laoruckphon, director of ACS, Ms. Siriluk Chaiprompasit, Thai director of CIAU and Mr. Zhao Peiqin, Chinese director of CIAU signed the agreement. All departments heads of ACS and some teachers and students of both ACS and CIAU attended the ceremony. ACS officially became the ninth teaching site of CIAU.

    In his speech, Dr. Chamnan Laoruckphon introduced the Chinese language teaching at ACS, the characteristics of ACS, and the increasing demand for learning Chinese language and culture in Thailand. Ms. Siriluk Chaiprompasit introduced the development of Confucius Institutes. Mr. Zhao Peiqin pointed out that both CIAU and ACS should seize the opportunity brought by China's One Belt and One Road Initiative, Thailand 4.0 Strategy and Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) Strategy to cultivate more qualified talents who could meet the needs of time after he briefly introduced CIAU, its mission and vision, services and cooperation fields with its teaching sites.

    CIAU delegation also observed ACS’ Chinese classroom teaching. The students of ACS showed great interests in Chinese language and Chinese culture. Ms. Siriluk Chaiprompasit encouraged students to study harder in their Chinese to be ready for their study in China to make contributions to the cooperation and exchange between China and Thailand.

    Founded on May 17th, 1994, with more than 4,000 registered students, ACS offers Chinese courses to all its students from kindergarten to high school. Both ACS and Assumption University are institutions founded by St. Gabriel Foundations.

    Through the establishment of Chinese teaching site, CIAU and ACS will carry out more cooperation in Chinese teaching, Chinese culture activities, Chinese proficiency tests and so on.
