CIAU Joins Assumption College Sriracha’s Chinese New Year Gala
On February 17, the first day of the Chinese New Year festival, the Confucius Institute at Assumption University (CIAU) attended the official opening ceremony of Assumption Sriracha School’s Chinese New Year Celebration for the 2025 academic year.


The event was held at the John Mary Building of Assumption Sriracha School to celebrate the Year of the Horse and to discuss strategies for enhancing Chinese language education at the school.
The school’s management team, led by Brother Dr. Phisoot Wapeeso, Director of Assumption Sriracha School, presided over the ceremony. Also in attendance were Brother Dr. Amnuay Yunprayong, Advisor for Pastoral Affairs and the Brothers; Brother Krisada Ngamwong, Vice Director and Director’s Advisor; Brother Pittaya Tueyta, Vice Director and Head of the Boarding Students Division; and Brother Dr. Sa-ard Wongsaroenphakdi, Vice Director and Director’s Advisor. The event was conducted in a warm and festive atmosphere.
Mr. Zhao Peiqin, Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at Assumption University, delivered New Year greetings and expressed his appreciation for the school’s continuous support of Chinese language education. He also reaffirmed the Institute’s commitment to promoting ongoing Chinese–Thai cultural exchanges and educational cooperation.
The celebration featured a variety of Chinese cultural experience activities, including Chinese calligraphy and traditional Chinese printmaking. In addition, representatives from both institutions discussed future cooperation in areas such as student exchange programs, teacher training initiatives, and study opportunities in China. Both parties agreed to further strengthen their partnership to enhance Chinese language education and create broader learning opportunities for Thai students.
